Implant-Supported Bridges and Dentures

Dental implants have provided us with a new, improved way to support bridges and dentures. Implants now offer our patients a secure way to anchor either style of tooth replacement.

Bridges

When you get a conventional bridge, the two teeth on either side of the missing tooth must be reshaped to allow a crown to fit over them. With an implant-supported bridge to replace two or more teeth in a row, you don’t have to alter your healthy teeth. A pair of dental implants supports that bridge instead, securely and permanently.

Dentures

Every person who wears dentures knows the problems common to this method to tooth replacement. Their fit changes and the dentures can start to slip or even come out when the wearer laughs. There are dietary restrictions and many people develop sore spots in their gums.

Implant-supported dentures eliminate these problems in several ways. For starters, the implants are placed in areas where the bone is strong and are used to anchor the dentures. Because the implants support the dentures, the dentures are stable—no slipping. Plus, there are no sore areas on the gums as one might have experienced with traditional dentures. Additionally, with implant-supported dentures, patients can eat whatever they want.

You can receive your dental implants right in our office. For your convenience, we bring in a trusted specialist to place your implants. Dr. Mamaliger or Dr. Maryam Isordia then create comfortable and attractive dentures or bridges to complete your treatment.
