Preventative Dentistry

We work with every patient to educate them on the importance of preventative dental care. We tell them that adherence to the correct preventative care plan can prevent a multitude of problems.

One of the key components of a good preventative care plan is maintaining a regular schedule of visits for professional cleanings and examinations. During every cleaning, we remove any accumulated tartar from your teeth using a safe, non-invasive ultrasonic cleaner. Tartar-free teeth are much less likely to develop cavities.

We also instruct patients on the right way to care for their teeth at home. This is another step you can take to prevent decay.

Regular Examinations Catch Problems Early

During regular preventative care visits, we will also check your teeth for any problems. You may receive X-rays so we can check for problems that aren’t yet visible. Small cavities can be quickly filled whereas letting decay go will take more care.

If we see early gum disease, we will help you eliminate it. If gum disease is more advanced, we can provide treatment so we can save your teeth, the health of your gums and your overall health. Your oral health is closely related to your overall physical well-being so keeping your gums healthy is very important.
